When arriving in Beijing, you will be greeted by our professional tour guide at the Beijing Capital Airport and then transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day will be free for your own leisure, and you can choose other scenic spots to visit at your own expenses.

After breakfast, tour by visiting Forbidden City, which is the largest & the best-preserved imperial palace complex in the world. Then tour Tiananmen Square. Stop by Tongrentang Chinese Medicine Institute, which had been designated to provide medicines for the royal pharmacy of the imperial palace of the Qing Dynasty for 188 years.
Then, visit the Temple of Heaven. Afterwards, explore the hutong neighbourhoods, nearby the Forbidden City, for insight into an historic area of Beijing that is fading fast. Over the years many of these age-old hutongs have been replaced by modern development, but much remains and a pedicab ride and walking tour will show you the most notable spots. You will explore the hutongs on foot and by pedicab with your guide.

Looking like a gigantic dragon across deserts, grasslands and mountains, the Great Wall of China is one of the ‘Eight Wonders of the World’. We tour the Juyongguan portion of the Great Wall in the morning and stop by a Jade Workshop where we will learn some information about the precious jade. Afterwards, drive by Olympic Village and have a photo stop at the Bird Nest &Water Cube.

This morning you will take high speed train to Xian, the ancient capital city for 11 dynasties in Chinese history. Upon arrival, proceed to Shaanxi History Museum, which has been regarded as “the pearl of ancient dynasties & house of Chinese treasures”. Then take an outside view of the Ancient City Wall.

Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors & Horses which are the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century & pay a visit to the Terra-cotta Figure Workshop en route. Then tour the Qinshihuang Mausoleum & visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Pagoda) is a well-preserved ancient building & a holy place for Buddhists.

Transfer to Dunhuang. In ancient times, Dunhuang was the trade center between China and its western neighbors. Upon arrival, visit Dunhuang Museum. Pay a visit to the famous Mogao Caves, where 492 surviving grottoes are lined with Buddhist carvings, and frescoes dating back to 366 AD. Afternoon, visit Mingsha Hill and the beautiful crescent pool in the Crescent Moon Spring.

Take the bullet train to Turpan and visit Jiaohe Ruins, the largest & best-preserved earth construction in the world. Although 2,000 years have passed, the former glory of Jiaohe can still be found in these ruins. Enjoy the Uighur minority show tonight.

Visit Gaochang Ruins, The city was initially built as a garrison town in the first century B.C., and was a key point along the Silk Road. Continue to visit the ancient Karez irrigation system. Water flowing from the melting snows of the northern mountains, is supplied to Turpan by man-made underground channels or “karez”. Transfer to Urumqi for overnight.
